Fashion Fair: Eunice Johnson

Called a doyenne of Black fashion, Mrs. Eunice Johnson was the co-founder of Ebony magazine and began the time-honored tradition of Fashion Fair, an opportunity for designers to shine and to be introduced to Black patrons. The Root has a piece up about Mrs. Johnson, and threadbared also did a lovely piece. Don’t miss the link to NPR’s interview with Andre Leon Talley, Editor-At-Large for Vogue magazine. To learn more about Mrs. Johnson, check out her bio.

You can also hear and see Mrs. Jonhson, in her own voice, in this interview.
