We Were In The Streets

Posted in Uncategorized with tags on November 6, 2008 by thebibliophile

we were in the streets

as revelation dawned

and justice made a clean

arc, a vector of lightning in an Autumn sky

we were in the streets

because the beat of si su puede turned

into, yes we did

felt

like the joyful, powerful

hope

full

wiggling of a toddler

dancing

we were in the streets

because it felt as if the movement had arrived

calling it crazy, surreal, unreal

searching for a word to describe

this other level of delight and triumph

we were in the streets

laughing, crying, dancing, hugging, smiling, screaming, praising,

praying, kissing, jumping, feeling, holding, dreaming, rejoicing

we were in the streets

and it felt like

freedom
